Cór na Saoirse is a women’s choir, specialising in the rich tradition of Irish vocal music. Based in the west of Ireland, we take pride in celebrating Irish culture through the beautiful and soulful harmonies of both traditional and contemporary Irish choral works.
Performing music in the Irish language, Gaeilge, is a priority of the group seen in the name of the ensemble. 'Cór' meaning 'choir', 'Saoirse' meaning 'freedom' (also a traditional Irish name).
Now in its inaugural year, the group has already collaborated with the University of Galway Singers, The Voice of Galway, and the Claddagh Chamber Choir. Most recently, in June 2024, we proudly became one of the first Irish amateur choirs to tour Japan!
At Cór na Saoirse, our mission is to facilitate a space for Irish vocal music to grow and be heard.

We make a huge effort to ensure each of our performances include music in the Irish language.

Supporting writers, composers, and performers is essential to fostering the growth and development of our musical heritage."
Community is central to Irish life, which is why we enjoy collaborating with artists and choirs like The Voice of Galway and the University of Galway Singers. Our proudest accomplishment has been partnering with the Galway City Chamber Choir. It was an incredible experience to join them in Tokyo and Osaka, becoming the first Irish choir to tour Japan!
